Cultural Highlights #Leila

Our team loves a natter about what they've been doing in the evenings and weekends. That gave us the idea of introducing you to our team and letting them share some of their cultural highlights with you. First up is Leïla Mc Lorin (@lmclrn) our project coordinator, based in Cardiff.

French, and former Berliner with an unconventional background, Leïla is managing a variety of different and exciting projects, hand in hand with the creative team.

What do you think about Leila’s choices?

Concert:

Cecile Mc Lorin Salvant - Auditorio y Palacio de Congresos de Castellón

She's an amazing jazz singer, who won grammies for her work. She was playing in Spain, close to Valencia. Piano - Voice. It was an amazing performance, very natural, moving, and fresh with Cecile interpreting songs in English, French, Occitan and Spanish.

Go see her, her performance on stage is really impressive.

Beef - Created by Lee Sung Jin

I absolutely loved this fast-paced series. We follow two strangers both going through some challenging time when they cross paths in a very unexpected way. It's funny, with smaert and relatable characters characters and Ali Wong is just amazing.

Book:

The Secret History - Donna Tartt

Dark and exciting story that follows a main narrator starting in a new university. He meets this "elite" and closed group of students and their teacher. Throughout the book, Richard tries really hard to get included into this cult-like group of friends, and as much as he manages to get their trust, he never gets to be on their level. It's a chilling story, that I found fascinating and beautifully written.
