Cultural Highlights #Melda

A thought provoking, honest and authentic list today from Melda one of our brilliant design team, including her thoughts on “decapitation, anarchy, death, corpses” Nice one, Melda!

Series

Succession is my favorite series. I love how it makes us feel like we're there, with the combination of a simple yet captivating story, talented actors, and of course, the cinematography. It feels so real, as if I'm part of that story. By the way, Team Kendall 🤘🏼.

Movie

Although my favorite movies change from time to time, the common point among most of them is that I love films that don't just provide catharsis but also present their emotions as they are, truthful, real. Recently, I was deeply moved by Lukas Dhont's second feature film, "Close". The director's statement in an interview resonated with me, as it is not only about childhood but also about life itself. He said, "Close is on the one hand about the delicate universe among young men, and on the other hand about what happens to these children when cruelty suppresses vulnerability and sensitivity disappears."

Gig

Last year, during my high school days, I went to a Placebo concert that I used to listen to a lot. I really loved this band. I will never forget how much their melodies from the past influenced me.

Book

The book "Ölüm Terbiyesi" by Zeynep Sayın, which I discovered through a gift from a dear friend of mine, is not a book that can be finished in one go; it deserves a long-lasting reading. In the book, I found profound thoughts on concepts such as head, mind, decapitation, anarchy, death, corpses, and their political implications.
