Cultural Highlights #Göksun

Göksun is a graphic designer with a passion for exploring interdisciplinary areas where music, coding, and drawing meet. He’s a huge fan of architecture and when he’s not glued to his bak screen he’s off visiting interesting sites to experience the feelings that architectural spaces evoke. He’s into absurd and sci-fi books, TV and film. He also loves to cook and enjoys searching for new recipes particularly local dishes and their stories, he insists it feels like therapy. Here are his top picks.

TV

Atlanta

Absurd, fascinating and critical series, which is also hugely fun to watch. The show delicately walks a fine line between reality and fiction, approaching various subjects from an intriguing perspective.

Nils Frahm - All Melody (Live at Montreux Jazz Festival 2015)

About a month ago, I had the opportunity to experience Nils Frahm live. It was an massively impressive and atmospheric experience from my point of view. The concert was composed of pieces that took me away from the moment and transported me to a different sonic world. The gradual development of sounds coming together to create a whole new universe, the harmony between the piano and synthesizers, all contributed to an emotionally charged experience.

At the same time, the stage design was incredibly simple, with only the combination of lights, wood & instruments, creating a warm studio-like atmosphere that complemented the music perfectly. But don’t take my word for it. Put on your earphones, turn down the lights and listen

SONG

Link - Truth/Alex Ebert - A warm song that I love listening to, giving me the feeling of being at home.

Link - Thahab, Mish Roujou', Thahab/Jerusalem in my Heart - Although it might be challenging to listen to continuously due to its vocal and stuttering structure, it's a song that impresses me a lot, with its dark and mystical feel -

Link - THE FEARLESS FLYERS /// Introducing the Fearless Flyers - A Nice groovy, funky song. -

ALBUM

Link - Hard Normal Daddy-Squarepusher

By chance, I got acquainted with this album, thanks to finding an old CD, and it introduced me to Squarepusher, increasing my love for electronic music. With its jazz and funky influences, as well as its complex and chaotic rhythmic structures, it always boosts my energy. Also it has very funny and great album cover.
